Research profile:

  • Soil as a physicochemical environment with particular emphasis on interphase processes,
  • Specific surface area as an indicator of changes in soil and plant material under the influence of environmental factors,
  • Physicochemical conditions for the formation and durability of soil structure,
  • Acid-base balance in soil, soil particle charge,
  • Physicochemical and surface characteristics of organic and inorganic porous materials,
  • Determination of physicochemical mechanisms of soil degradation and remediation processes based on the analysis of its physicochemical and surface properties,
  • Modification of the solid phase of soil using biochar, mineral and organic sorbents, flocculants and natural and synthetic macromolecular compounds,
  • Use of mineral and organic sorbents of various origins as soil conditioners for decontamination and immobilization of heavy metals and other xenobiotics,
  • Influence of humic substances of different molecular weights, originating from various organic wastes, on the structure and characteristics sorption and surface phases of solid soil,
  • Influence of organic and inorganic modifiers on the stability of soil aggregates,
  • Interactions of humic substances with metals and organic compounds (antibiotics, bioactive agents, plant protection products).
