On 3-5 March 2013, Assoc. Prof. Piotr Baranowski and PhD Jaromir Krzyszczak attended an international workshop: “Exploring new ideas for trade and agriculture model integration for assessing the impacts of climate change on food security”. The host institution for the workshop was the Natural Resource and Environmental Research Center (NRERC), the University of Haifa, Israel. The workshop was held as part of the Research Consortium MACSUR that addresses aspects of climate change, food security and European agriculture. The speakers in the workshop were MACSUR partners.
The workshop incorporated two main parts:
1. Review and discussion of the models involved in analyzing the effects of climate change on food security;
2. Introducing innovative ideas that combine economic models with crops and livestock models.
